Let’s kick of with a bang with a review of a keyboard that fits into our budget theme from before, the XISOGUU Retro Wireless Keyboard from Amazon. This adorable retro keyboard comes with a mouse, which I also gave a try to just to be consistent. Let’s get into i.

XISOGUU Retro Keyboard with Round Keycaps: My Thoughts
Price
This is a very affordable keyboard and for the price it’s very nicely constructed. It doesn’t feel too cheap but is still very portable, making it ideal for people who need to bring their keyboard on the go. It also uses a 2.4 GHz adapter to connect to your computer, which means you can plug-and-play this keyboard without any software downloads or connection software.
Construction
The keyboard is pretty cheap, but for the price the construction feels very sturdy. The plastic doesn’t feel flimsy or weak and the keys don’t feel like they’re going to rip through the membrane even when I hit the keys really hard. (I’m an aggressive typist.)
Keycaps
The keycaps are plastic and are very light to the touch. They don’t feel flimsy though, just light and airy. Like a cloud under your fingers but not quite as satisfying as a linear mechanical keyboard would feel. The keycaps do not feel cheap even though the keyboard is very affordable.
Keyboard Mechanics
This membrane keyboard is actually very light. It does feel heavier than a mechanical keyboard and sometimes I don’t press the buttons hard enough to trigger the keys because I’m used to very light mechanical switches. However, this keyboard feel very good in the hand for what it is.
Problems I Encountered When Using the XISOGUU Retro Keyboard with Round Keycaps
The only thing about this keyboard I would complain about is that my phone doesn’t fit in the phone holder with the case on. Other than that, I actually really liked this keyboard and would recommend it. Another thing about it is that it’s quite a quiet keyboard. There is some plastic scratching sounds when tapping the keys but they are very quiet and this would be a good keyboard to use if you work in an office and just want to upgrade your physical space.
