GEODMAER 65% Backlit Gaming Keyboard: My Thoughts

Price

So, the price of this keyboard is one of its most attractive features. Some of the color choices are as low as $15.67 USD which is an extremely low price for a “gaming keyboard.” For the price that it was purchased at, it’s a very nice keyboard. It feels good, sounds good, and the materials don’t feel cheap.

Construction

The construction of the keyboard is pretty good for such a low price. The material of the frame and keycaps is quite thick and feels very sturdy in the hand. The lights are bright and the colours are attractive, which is uncommon for keyboards at this price point.

Keycaps

The keycaps feel very good. I’m not a huge fan of the OEM profile as a whole. I’m not really into ergonomic keyboards. But these keycaps are very nice to use and feel very high quality considering the price point. I’m not sure what the exact plastic type of the keycaps is, but it feels very nice and not greasy like ABS plastic sometimes does. However, the keycaps are not replaceable since they use a membrane plunger in the middle of the keycap that prevents them from being corss compatible with Cherry MX keycaps.

Keyboard Mechanics

This is plunger membrane keyboard. It’s very quiet and feels very good. However, the keys are pretty heavy considering the mechanics behind them. They don’t feel very responsive and I have to press them quite hard to make them trigger compared to an actual mechanical “gaming keyboard.”

Problems I Encountered When Using the GEODMAER 65% Backlit Gaming Keyboard

The keys are heavy but other than that I love this keyboard and would recommend it for those looking for a budget keyboard.
