one thing that i’ve struggled with as i move forward with this blog and the project surrounding the documentation of my life as a disabled person is how i want to approach the evergreen content that started this blog in the first place. this blog originally started as a passion project to write about my hobbies without the oversight of a publisher and editor. in that sense, it was always meant to value authenticity over profitability anyway.
when i decided to change this blog into a living narrative of a life lived with profound disabilities. at first i thought i should just cut the evergeen content altogether. make the blog solely focus on my disability narrative. the project is meant to focus om four aspects of the disability narrative that are often ignored.
however, i still wanted to keep some evergreen related content available because my life is not a joyless vacuum of struggles due to my disability, and that really is the key point of the project. the evergreen content i was posting before was all about my hobbies. i love things like keyboards and computers, gaming, fashion (jirai kei, menhera, egl) , and collecting things (i collect sunday oak merch, kuromi merch, decorative box cutters, and pax pod boxes!) and it would be inauthentic to have a narrative of my disability story that didn’t include these things.
so how are these things going to be included in the new way that this blog is running and will run: first off, evergreen content will be rolled into these regular posts that i make just talking about life. while i may make an effort to publish some evergreen content regularly (i have a lot of keyboards i can talk about and i have so many pax pods to talk about and games i’ve been playing!), the content plan for this blog isn’t really a plan at all, it’s a promise. but, i’ll talk more about the content plan in a dedicated post. for now, just rest assured that i will be doing reviews they just won’t be as structured as they were before and they’re going to be a part of the regular posts instead of a separate thing.
